Miriam E. Miles, Writer

Poet, Speaker, Creative

I am a poet, writer, blogger, thinker, picture taker, and music maker. My brand new poetry collection, Phoenix, is a collection focused on the real intersection between mental illness, spirituality, and healing and is now available in eBook and will soon to be in paperback.

So far I have also penned Freeing the Writer Within, It’s Just Time to Be You, Words and Starting Again: Re-engaging with your creative self, works that I hope in future to release as well.

For me, words matter above all other forms of expression but are often accompanied by other mediums of creativity and are usually spiritually and first-person minded. I am not afraid to experiment and like to dabble with multiple mediums so you might find my poems on Instagram with some related background, or hear them on a podcast or even see them on video: it just depends on what feels best for that piece.

My hope is to portray a range of experiences and emotions through my words giving you an opportunity to jump into that world for a moment and experience it yourself.

“Authentic, transparent and raw”

“Phoenix took me by surprise both visually and intellectually”

“I love ‘normal’ poetry, but found that I could appreciate your style in a different way.”

“Moving and eloquent. Looking forward to Volume 2!”

Phoenix is an abstract poetic exploration of acknowledgement, facing the hard stuff and finding healing. Each poem reveals a portion of the road travelled and is a transparent and sincere study of a mind fighting its way free from illness, grabbing hold of spiritual hope and setting itself free.

This collection is focused on the real intersection between mental illness and connecting with spirituality and healing, giving an opportunity to open up the conversation about the power of God that undergirds Miriam’s journey from illness to wellness.

Phoenix is accessible, written in a none-threatening and non- judgmental style. It allows the reader free and open access to embrace Miriam’s journey and connect with their own.
